BIOGRAPHY

Patrick Bignon is the founding partner of
Law Management Consulting.

Patrick Bignon is a founding partner of Bignon De Keyser. Formerly a lecturer at Sciences Po in Paris, Patrick Bignon is the author of The Legal Function and the Company, a reference book that was published in France in 1995.

As a lawyer in the field of M&A, Patrick Bignon held the position of Managing Partner at Archibald Andersen. In this capacity, he made a big contribution to the development of the firm’s legal and tax practices on the French market, while maintaining one of the highest profit margins in the Andersen organisation.


In 1999, Patrick Bignon became the Managing Partner of the Andersen Legal network. As head of the network, he was in charge of strategy and development.
Among his various management functions, he served on several executive committees and was a member, in particular, of the Board of Andersen Worldwide; he has experience in handling many management challenges such as link-ups between law firms, the launching of new offices and establishing client development programmes. In 2002, at the time of the link-up between Andersen and Ernst & Young, Patrick Bignon, then a board member of Andersen Worldwide, was appointed to head the EY Law’s global legal network, and successfully completed the integration into the EY network of 19 law firms that were formerly members of Andersen Legal.

In 2005, Patrick Bignon created Law Management Consulting an independent consulting firm specialising in strategy, management and organisational consulting dedicated to legal professions.

Steven De Keyser.
Biography

Steven De Keyser is a founding partner of Bignon De Keyser.

As a lawyer in the field of information technology, Steven De Keyser held the positions of Country Managing Partner and later Managing Director of DLA Piper in mainland Europe. In this capacity, he was at the heart of DLA Piper’s successful breakthrough in many places from Spain to Russia.


In 2007, he was appointed Strategic Projects Director of DLA Piper and became a member of the Global Board of DLA Piper as well as a member of the Executive Committee for Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Steven has a successful track record in delivering ambitious strategic projects, such as integration of new firms and teams, start-ups across mainland Europe and client and sector specific programmes

Dirk Maertens.
Biography

Dirk has held senior project management positions at an international law firm for more than 5 years. Before that he has gained more than 10 years of experience as management consultant at Accenture. Dirk has worked in many European countries and is fluent in English, French, German and Dutch.

Dirk’s experience with successful client development programs is a result of working in various industries in a business to business environment. He knows what it takes to structure the approach, build momentum within a firm and measure results. He has more than 15 years of track record driving successful client relationships at many organisations.

Christa Cantieni Cunin.
Biography

Executive Coach
Christa is a certified and experienced international Executive Coach and Trainer with an exceptional experience in the legal industry. She is certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and upholds the Code of Ethics of ICF. She is trained in Leadership, Management skills, Communications, Lumina Profiling Systems, NLP, AT, Systemics etc.

Christa has served clients in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France and Switzerland. She successfully delivers coaching and training on themes like: Leadership development for Partners, coaching new Partners, public speaking/presentations skills for lawyers, client relationship development, career guidance for lawyers, Lumina Spark profiles etc.

Christa holds a Diplôme d'études spécialisées en droit européen from ULB Brussels and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University in addition to a Degree of Law from University of Berne.

She has held different positions, such as European Affairs Adviser at Datev eG, Brussels, General Counsel Swisscom IT Services AG, Berne/Zürich, where she successfully build up its Legal Department, Senior Legal Counsel/Legal Counsel, Swisscom AG, Berne, President of the Mietamt of the City of Berne where she led mediations between landlords and tenants, Associate, Hammer & Steinlin, Berne and Judicial Clerk, District Court of Berne.

Marie Baléo .
Biography

Consultant

A graduate of Sciences Po Paris with a Master’s in Business Law (Global Governance Studies), Marie has interned with business law firms in France and Lebanon, and has gained in-depth knowledge of the legal market and its main players.
Additionally, Marie holds a degree in international relations from Washington University in St. Louis (USA) and is perfectly bilingual in English. She also speaks Norwegian and Arabic.

Since joining Bignon De Keyser in 2012, Marie has worked on a broad range of subjects including the following:

  • performing studies and monitoring developments on the legal market and with regard to its players;
  • participating in the wide variety of assignments carried out by the firm for the legal professions (in particular on strategy, organisation, HR performance and client development);
  • providing support to our clients in the implementation of our recommendations

Pénélope Bignon-Calmels
Biography

Consultant

With a Master’s 2 degree in Literary, Artistic and Industrial Property from Panthéon-Assas Paris II University, Pénélope was admitted to the bar in 2009 and practised as a lawyer for five years. She began her career in the Business Law department of the International Division of FIDAL before joining the Intellectual Property practice of the law firm of Gide Loyrette Nouel as an associate from 2011 to 2014.
Over the last five years, Pénélope has worked on big legal projects for French and international clients.

After her experience of working in law firms, Pénélope joined Bignon de Keyser on September 1, 2014 where she will work on a broad range of subjects including the following:

  • performing studies and monitoring developments on the legal market and with regard to its players;
  • participating in the wide variety of assignments carried out by the firm for the legal professions (in particular on strategy, organisation, HR performance and client development);
  • providing support to our clients in the implementation of our recommendations
