Richard King
Richard King is an experienced law firm leader and professional manager, who has worked extensively at board level within international legal practices.
He has been responsible for teams and initiatives focused on law firm productivity and performance, merger integration, strategy, legal operations, transformation, optimising international networks, learning and development and knowledge management.
He is an English corporate lawyer with experience in City of London law firms and the Big 4.
Richard has led key transformation projects at Herbert Smith Freehills, particularly the creation and expansion of the firm’s Legal Operations function, and its focus on innovation and digital transformation. He has worked on law firm strategy, both at HSF and in earlier roles at Andersen Legal & EY Law, and played leading roles in the development of international law firm networks, and to help deliver effective merger integration. He’s also run projects to reconfigure law firm operations to reduce costs and improve service levels and efficiency.
He maintains his long-standing interest and passion for knowledge management and learning & development solutions for law firms. He has spent a lot of time in recent years on policy issues to support the growth of pro bono, community and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
